The LORD's Day

I was going to label this post "Day of Rest" but actually that wasn't really true for Monty today, but it IS the Lord's Day :) What day isn't? We got to visit a great new church for the second time this week (New Beginnings International Church) and were encouraged by the people there...even had a good old fashioned potluck after service (yes, I did make deviled eggs...I wouldn't be Mary Beth's daughter if I didn't bring deviled eggs to potluck! Plus they were the easiest thing I could think of!) Monty had to work this afternoon and so his one day off turned into a 1/2 day off, but he is really keeping a good attitude and doing his best.

I enjoyed my afternoon at the house. I love that our "nest" feels homier and more settled now. Yesterday I got to piddle around and arrange things (so I will probably post a picture of our flat soon!) I also had coffee this afternoon with my favorite South African neighbor. And I made granola bars to share with her. She has shared so many delicious baked goodies with me, I wanted to share some American granola bars with her! The recipe is one I started making in Nigeria 3 years ago and have been making ever since (in America and now back in Lagos!) The other good news is...we figured out how to get a (longer) hot shower! For the past 3 weeks the hot water in the shower has run out after about 60 seconds. But we just discovered that the shower in the other bathroom doesn't have that problem! So I got to take a real hot shower!
